Lauren Lane is a licensed Texas Speech Language Pathologist, Feeding Specialist and specializes in Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTs).
Lauren was born and raised in the Dallas area. She graduated from The University of Mississippi with her Bachelors degree in Communication Disorders and with her Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology. She worked in Dallas ISD, Richardson ISD, as well as worked in a pediatric Speech Clinic in Plano. Now that Lauren has opened her own mobile practice, she specializes in pediatric speech and feeding therapy.
Lauren first realized she wanted to work with others who have different needs when she was in high school. She was the teacher aid to a class filled with freshmen who had learning differences. She also escorted a fellow classmate with Down Syndrome to and from his classes. Once in college she found the field of Speech Language Pathology.
In graduate school, Lauren found a passion for pediatric speech therapy as well as the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community. She learned sign language and helped those without a voice to communicate.
Since graduating Lauren has continued her passion in pediatric speech therapy. She has added on ‘Feeding Specialist’ to her tool belt after her daughter was born with Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTs). Lauren has made it her mission to educate parents about TOTs, the circumstances that come with TOTs, as well as provide feeding and speech therapy.
The Speech Lane was created for 3 reasons.
Number 1 was to educate parents. Lauren’s daughter has made her aware about the lack of knowledge about TOTs and feeding. Parents should be equipped with what to ask at their next pediatric appointment.
Number 2 was to provide pediatric speech and feeding therapy to young children so they can be ready for school. Lauren is a huge believer in Early Intervention.
Number 3 is to keep the family day to day life simple. Schedules are hard enough as it is. Now throw therapy into the mix? Forget it. Lauren wants to provide therapy where it fits you best!
